The Heart Institute of the Caribbean Foundation (HICF)was founded in 2004 to ensure that interventional cardiac services are available in Jamaica for all its citizens, regardless of their ability to pay; and Ensure the promotion of cardiovascular health island wide.

Heart disease remains the number 1 killer of Afro-Caribbeans; this killer steals father(s), mothers, grandmothers and grandfathers far too soon. The excess premature deaths that are a result of heart disease, robs our islands of badly needed resources- parents and grandparents who can make the difference in the lives of our children.
